Robert Krueger Research Grant

About Robert Krueger
Robert Krueger began his pharmacognosy career with Professor William Kelleher, performing undergraduate research at the University of Connecticut; he then earned his Ph.D. at the University of Iowa with ASP founding member Professor David Carew. Dr. Krueger’s professional activities were chiefly focused on teaching and research in the College of Pharmacy at Ferris State, a Primarily Undergraduate Institution (PUI) in Big Rapids, Michigan, helping other young faculty there and elsewhere develop research programs, and helping students prepare for and launch their own careers. Bob was an active member of the ASP and the founding treasurer of the ASP Foundation (ASPF) who, over the course of 30+ years, oversaw the expansion of the ASP's student travel awards from 4 or 5 a year to nearly 20. After Bob’s passing in 2023, the ASPF Board of Directors sought to establish an award in keeping with Bob's primary academic and ASP interests - thus, the idea of a research grant for faculty members of non-PhD granting institutions.
